SEM Venom Art Fluid
SEM Products of the USA have recently added a unique new product to their popular range of Color Horizons custom finishes, which includes Hyper & Lightening Pearls, Candy Colours, Fluorescents and Flakes.
Venom Art Fluid can be mixed with any of the products in the SEM Color Horizons range, then applied over a base coat. While the coating is still wet, plastic stretch wrap is placed over the Venom Art Fluid to create unlimited effects from a Snake Skin impression to an intense marble effect.
Venom Art Fluid can be used as the finished product or further coats of pearls and candy's can be applied to create an unlimited array of special effects. SEM Color Horizons products are supplied in a concentrated form for intermixing with most automotive clears to minimize the cost of your custom paint project.

Wieländer+Schill Laser Cutter
At Automechanika in Germany , Wieländer+Schill launched the all-new Laser Cutter, for the removal and separation of the new welding seams created with the latest Laser Technology. Sales of this unit, especially in Europe , are now in the hundreds.
Manufacturers such as VW are using this new Laser Welding/Laser Brazing technique in many new models (e.g. the new VW Golf 5 and Touareg). These Laser Welding seams are commonly found in the roof, doorsill, plants, A, B and C Posts and floor panels of new vehicles.
Terry Feehan from SAPE, the Australian partner of W+S said, “Laser Welding offers many advantages to the manufacturing sector, including high welding velocity, less distortion, high weld strength, better structural stiffness and savings on material. Obviously this now requires new techniques on the repairs side of the equation. This is the reason why we have the new W+S Laser Cutter in Australia ”.
The new VW Golf 5 has approximately 60metres of Laser Welded Seams offering the vehicle elevated stiffness and exceptional crash efficiency, with other models yet to be released in Australia , exceeding this.
The W+S Laser Cutter is designed to remove these Laser Welded Seams with great ease prior to repair. “It is an extremely light weight tool, ensuring user comfort, but is still the ideal tool for the job, demonstrating the high quality manufacture and durability that is expected from Wieländer+Schill”, said Feehan.
“The W+S Laser Cutter (LC 04), is the only tool of it's kind currently on the market, and with the advent of Laser Welding & Laser Brazing Techniques from some of the major Manufacturers, it is going to be one of those tools you cannot be without”, concluded Feehan. |
